The European Union – Latin America Observatory (OBREAL), the National University of Mar del Plata (UNMDP), together with the Secretary of University Policies of Argentina (SPU), the National Interuniversity Council (CIN) and the Association of Universities of the Montevideo Group (AUGM) held the meeting "CAMINO A FIESA 2020" which took place from September 9 to 12, 2019.The meeting involved the participation of Argentine and Latin American University Community and European strategic partners. Camino a FIESA 2020 was oriented to discuss and plan the thematic agenda of the International Fair of Higher Education (FIESA), which will take place in Mar del Plata in March 2020.
The CAMINOS project, an “Erasmus + Capacity Building” (E +) project that involves universities and associations from five countries in Latin America and Europe, organized its final event to present its main results within the framework of 'ROAD TO FIESA 2020'.In addition , the CAMINOS project took the opportunity to extend the invitation to other projects similar in nature in Latin America. It was a unique opportunity to gather E + projects with international cooperation objectives and contribute to the FIESA 2020 agenda.
The CAMINOS project promotes the idea that the only way to generate sustainable results and ensure a positive impact of E + projects, both institutionally and politically, is through the construction of synergies, sharing experiences and joining forces as long as possible. In this way, the CAMINOS project supported the organizers of ROAD to FIESA 2020 by integrating their final event into the program and inviting all Erasmus + coordinators to participate in the discussions.
Thus, ROAD to FIESA 2020 offered a unique opportunity to all the actors in Argentina, Latin America and Europe who have been collaborating in the framework of different international projects, to share experiences and contribute to the preparation of the FIESA 2020 conference.
The objectives of ROAD to FIESA 2020 in which the CAMINOS project took part were:
Promote the dissemination of results of all Erasmus + projects that currently deal with issues related to internationalization, such as the recognition of studies, the management of international offices and student services, the internationalization of curricula, the internationalization of research, its recognition, etc.
Discuss the synergy between these projects, as well as other international initiatives and how their results can be used in the region and in the construction of bridges between Europe and Latin America.
Discuss the sustainability of E + projects and possible contributions to the future of the E + Program.
Discuss the development of the Latin American Higher Education Area (LINKS) and cooperation within the framework of EU-Latin America policies.
Promote the main results of the CAMINOS project and its implications both for university mobility management and for cooperation between Latin American universities and associations when it comes to internationalizing the Higher Education sector.
Discuss the contributions of E + projects to FIESA 2020.
Discuss how FIESA can promote and benefit from E + projects.
Contribute to the design of the FIESA Program.
